THE RS-GP MACHINES RIDDEN BY ALVARO BAUTISTA AND STEFAN BRADL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SEAMLESS TECHNOLOGY
In the 2015 MotoGP season, beginning from the Mugello race, Aprilia Racing used a gearbox with seamless technology on the RS-GP machines competing in the top Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing class. The system, developed by Aprilia thanks to a license granted for the use of a number of patents held by the English company Zeroshift Performance, guarantees lightning fast shifting without any interruption to the torque transmitted to the rear wheel.
This is an important development in Aprilia's MotoGP project which will continue next season and where the RS-GP progressed in performance to the point where the riders, Alvaro Bautista and Stefan Bradl were battling consistently for positions in the points in the second part of the season.
Romano Albesiano, Aprilia Racing Manager, has positive feelings about the collaboration with Zeroshift Performance: “We are pleased with the results achieved by our gearbox in MotoGP. We have reached an excellent performance level thanks to the hard work our Racing Department has done. By using the Zeroshift Performance patents we were able to create a seamless transmission which is proving to be effective and reliable and which we will continue to develop in order to take full advantage of its undisputed potential.”
